a) Windows is actually a working system with loads of software and quite a good development environment for almost everything.
b) Today's Linux offers everything Mac can provide in terms of a development environment, arguably better, esp. regarding package management and backend development.
Not that I like Huawei much, but the incident reflects on the problem of our reliance on closed frameworks and infrastructures - once the provider decides you are not following rules, or they don't benefit enough, your entire product is in jeopardy.
Moreover, ponder for a moment how many close-sourced services we rely on for developing *open source* software, GitHub, Travis CI,... It is not a rarity that some big companies just close projects or shutdown APIs randomly.
